Hello, It was great to see everyone at our first family night! I hope you enjoyed the new format and got to know a few other families in our classroom. Upcoming Events: 9/24: Family Night Homecoming week 9/23-9/27 dress up days: Monday-Hat/Crazy Hair Day Tuesday-Crazy Sock Day Wednesday-School Spirit Day! Wear Purple/NDLC Attire, Homecoming Parade 6:00, meet at 5:15 at Holy Cross if you are interested in walking in the parade. An adult must walk with the child.  Thursday-Disney or Super Hero Day Friday-Orange and Black Day 10/2: Picture Day 10/4: No School Reading: This week in reading we are going to focus on paying close attention to authors. How authors have intentions, and readers don’t just notice those craft move they can try them. We will also learn about connecting the whole book together and thinking about what the author is trying to teach us. And we’re off! You may have seen the book bags that started coming home last week. Students will pack books up every Monday-Thursday. They can read for 10-15 minutes at the start of the year. Please make sure those book bags return each day. Let me know if you have any questions! This week is safety week, the district did send out an information letter and we will practice each drill this week. Today we started off with a fire drill, we will also practice an evacuation drill and tornado drill this week. Happy Monday! Hello and welcome to the first blog post! This will be used as a communication tool to keep you updated on what we are doing in the classroom and upcoming events/reminders. Let me know at anytime if you have any questions or concerns! Here are a few reminders: Please be sure to have the decorated writing folder returned because we are starting our writing unit. Also all paperwork that was sent home at open house or the first day of school needs to be returned.
