It was great to meet with you last Thursday for conferences and if I haven’t met with you yet I am looking forward to seeing you tomorrow.

Reading:
This week in reading we are learning that if we truly want to become an expert on a topic we need to grow our knowledge across books on the same topic. We will learn that we can notice when parts go together, add to what we know, and spot differences in the books (big and small).
Writing:
In writing this week we are going to continue to think about the audience that we are writing for. We will be setting goals on how to better our writing with our audience in mind. We will also edit our writing and add final touches to our books to make sure they are ready. We will end the week by learning from the masters and using them as a mentor to teach us craft moves.
Math:
In math this week we will be wrapping up Unit 2. We will do more work with money and coins at the start of the week. We will then review what we have learned and have our math test on Friday.
Researcher’s Workshop:
In researcher’s workshop we will introduce our researching centers. We will have a book center, sort center, technology center, art center, and experiment center.
Word Work:
In word work we will continue reviewing and practicing baseword and suffix combinations (ex. Ing, ed, er, est, s, es). We will also be looking at vowel teams oa, oe, and ow while continuing to practice all of our trick words.
