Math:

Reading:
We will continue learning and practicing strategies that we will need to read longer books. As readers, we will be working to hold onto a story throughout an entire book and thinking about how the parts go together. We will practice visualizing our characters and setting in order to have a better understanding and to improve our story retells.

Writing:
In writing this week we will continue to write our opinion about books we are reading. We will talk about how we need to keep our audience in mind. Especially when you are writing your opinion and are trying to convince someone to read your books. We will also create checklists to help us revise. Lastly, we will learn about giving evidence to support our opinions.

Word Study:
This week in word work we will be taking the mid year spelling test. We will also continue sending home spelling words in their agendas. Then we will be starting Unit 6. This unit focuses on vowel-consonant-e.

Researcher’s Workshop:
In Researcher’s Workshop, we are going to continue investigating and exploring more about the history and geography of Kaukauna. We will explore articles, artifacts, and other research about various topics related to Kaukauna that we are interested in.
