Reading: This week in reading we are continuing our unit about reading longer books. We have been focusing on story structure and this week we will introduce a story arc and how that can help us retell.

Writing: In writing we have started our opinion unit. This unit is writing letters about books we are reading. We were introduced to paragraphing in this unit. How to organize our writing using paragraphs.

Math: In math this week we will continue working on subtracting with 2-digit numbers. We will also introduce subtracting using 3-digit numbers as well.

Researcher's Workshop: We have started a new unit on historical people and political science. We will be studying famous people that impacted the United States and asking ourselves, why is it important to remember them? What impact did they make?

Word Work: In word work we have been working on the silent e at the end of a word.

Hey Everyone, As we wrap up our blog posts for this week, we want to thank you for all of the support that you are providing your children in this journey. As we head into next week, which is spring break, please take that time to rest, relax, and recharge. When we return the following week, we will begin our Virtual Learning 2.0 Plan. As a district and school team, we have met to establish new plans and expectations as our safer at home mandate has been extended. We plan to make a video for parents to explain it! Thank you for your feedback on what we are trying to best help you. Please always feel free to let us know what is working or not working for your families. Hello, This week we will have our valentines celebration on Friday. Student can bring in their mailbox and valentines that day. Let me know if you are bringing a treat for the class so I can make sure there are no repeats or not too many sweets :).
